How to care for a mechanical watch

An automatic movement winds from the motion of your wrist. If you wear the watch rarely, consider a winder or wind it by hand once a week to keep the lubricant evenly distributed.

Water resistance is not forever — the seals age. We recommend a gasket check every 2–3 years, especially if you swim with the watch.

Avoid strong magnetic fields (speakers, some bags with magnetic clasps) — they can magnetise the movement and make it run fast. If you notice sudden gaining, visit a service centre.
